How we made this list. The places come from OpenStreetMap records inside Tuscaloosa’s city limits, the same data behind our local directory, checked against each place’s own website on Oct. 17, 2026. We added the second Chipotle, the second Moe’s and four Taco Bells because their own location pages give Tuscaloosa addresses. Many of the city’s family-run Mexican restaurants are not here because we could not find a website of their own giving a Tuscaloosa address, or their sites did not load for us: among them Azul Tequila, Barrio Fiesta, Los Tarascos, Santos and Veracruz. Taco Mama’s store finder did not show a Tuscaloosa address. The list is alphabetical. It is not a ranking or a recommendation, and nobody paid to be on it. Run one of these places?
