13 places for breakfast and coffee in Tuscaloosa, 19 locations, with hours from their own sites: downtown, the Strip, the riverfront and Skyland.

Last checked 2026-10-17. Refreshed every three months.

Tuscaloosa’s sit-down breakfast places cluster downtown (Big Bad Breakfast, Brick & Spoon, Monarch Espresso Bar), by the river on Jack Warner Parkway (Another Broken Egg Cafe, Heritage House Riverfront) and in the Midtown Village area of McFarland Boulevard East (Metro Diner). Early coffee and 24-hour breakfast are on University Boulevard, 15th Street and Skyland Boulevard.

How we made this list. The places come from OpenStreetMap records inside Tuscaloosa’s city limits, the same data behind our local directory, checked against each place’s own website on Oct. 17, 2026. We added Metro Diner, two Starbucks and two Waffle Houses because their own sites give Tuscaloosa addresses. We left out Turbo Coffee, whose online ordering points to a Huntsville store, and Strange Brew, Scooter’s and Nehemiah’s, whose sites did not load or give a Tuscaloosa address for us. The Starbucks counters on the University of Alabama campus and inside Target are not in the table. The list is alphabetical. It is not a ranking or a recommendation, and nobody paid to be on it.
