Gift markets

  • Tuscaloosa Farmers Market. Every Saturday year-round, 7 a.m. to noon, with locally grown produce, grass-fed meats and artisan crafts, the city says. More on our farmers markets guide.
  • Kentuck. The free Art Market on the third Saturday of each month brings local artists and handmade goods to Kentuck at Queen City, and The Deep End gift shop inside sells work by artists from across Alabama. Call 205-758-1257.
  • First Friday. Downtown galleries open late with art, food and drinks on the first Friday of each month.

Things to do with Mom

  • Walk the Riverwalk. The city’s Riverwalk along the Black Warrior River has restrooms, parking, lighting and a splash pad, and leashed dogs are welcome. See our walking and biking trails guide.
  • Live at the Plaza. In 2026 the city’s free concert series ran every Friday in May and June from 6 to 9 p.m. on Government Plaza, family and pet friendly with a Kid Zone, according to the city. The 2027 lineup was not out as of Oct. 17, 2026.
  • A show. The Arts Council of Tuscaloosa posts films and concerts at the Historic Bama Theatre, 600 Greensboro Ave., on its calendar.
