  • The Paul W. Bryant Museum. On the University of Alabama campus, the museum, open since 1988, traces the history of Alabama football through artifacts, memorabilia and video. It is open Tuesday through Sunday. Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for K-12 students; children under 5, museum members and UA faculty, staff and students get in free.
  • Golf. PARA’s Ol’ Colony Golf Course is a Jerry Pate-designed 18-hole championship course with 25 acres of lakes, home of the Epson Tour’s Tuscaloosa Toyota Classic. It is open seven days a week with seasonal hours; book a tee time at 205-562-3201. PARA also runs Iron & Ember at the Jerry Pate Golf Center, 401 Old Colony Road.
  • Fishing. Lake Lurleen at Lake Lurleen State Park, about nine miles northwest, covers 250 acres and is stocked with largemouth bass, bream, catfish and crappie. The park is open 7 a.m. to sunset; day use is $5 for adults and free for veterans and military personnel. Call 205-339-1558.

  • Tuscaloosa Farmers Market: Saturday, June 19, 7 a.m. to noon, at the River Market, 1900 Jack Warner Parkway, with produce, grass-fed meats and artisan crafts, the city says.
  • Kentuck’s Art Market: free, on the third Saturday of the month, June 19, at Kentuck at Queen City, 1901 Jack Warner Parkway (listing).
